Women won’t be tortured if rules of law prevails in country : Shirin Akhtar

Women would not be tortured if rules of law and good governance would be established in the country. Scale of corruption increasing comprising with amount of development in the country. Thousands cores of taka looted from the banks, but we failed to take any action. We want development of the country, but not looting of national wealth.
These were said on Saturday by Central Secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) Shirin Akhtar MP while addressing as Chief Guest of the biannual conference of Barishal city and district units of the party at Ashwini Kumar Hall of the city recently.
The JSD leader thanking Prime Minister for starting rectification drives against corruption demanded hard and exemplary punishment of the looters and corrupted persons. She claimed that JSD always demanding implementation of rule of law and good governance.
At the cost of sacrificing thirty lakhs martyrs and chastity of two lakhs women we established Bangladesh based on sensations of liberation war. To develop the country under leadership of 14-party alliance leader Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and we are working united.
We established a sovereign independent state, but yet no get freedom. Corruption, looting national wealth and communal force are main obstacles on way to get freedom, Shirin opined.
JSD leader claiming that religious preaching of Jamaat leader Saidyee and his followers still heard at different corners of the country and demanded before the administration to stop that immediately. She expressed her firm assurances for facing communal forces, militancy and called the party workers to work with unity.
The programme was presided over by district JSD president Mujibul Huq and addressed among others by central vice president Shafiuddin Mollah, joint secretary Obidur Rahman Chunnu, Advocate Habibur Rahman Shawkat, organizing secretary Mirza Anwarul Huq, office secretary Abdullahel Qaium.
Among others district leaders Advocate Abdul Hye Mahbub, Ahsanul Kabir Badal, Dulal Saha, Md. Muhsin, Zahangir Kabir Mukul, Moslem Shikdar also addressed the programme.
The central, city and district JSD leaders hoisting party and national flags inaugurated the biannual conference and a procession marched on city roads.
Later total 46-member committees of district and city units of JSD were formed and declared.
