A decomposed body of a young woman was recovered from a tin-shed house in the capital’s Shah Ali area on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Khadiza akter Brishti, 28, inhabitant of Beribadh Royal City area at Mirpur in Dhaka.
Shah Ali Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Rohis Uddin said, “Being informed, a team of police rushed to spot at night and recovered the hanging body of Brishti breaking open the door of a tin-shed room at Beribadh area. Half of her body was rotten and deformed.”
The SI suspects that Brishti might have committed suicide three to four days.
The body was sent to Suhrawardi Medical College and Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
“We are investigating the incident,” the SI added.
