A housewife was allegedly tortured and head hair was cut by miscreants at Magura village in Jhikorgacha upazila of Jashore district on yesterday (Tuesday) night.
The victim has filed a complaint with Jhikargacha police station.
The victim, Halima Khatun, 20, said she got married with Milon Hossain, 25, son of Sirajul Islam of Manoharpur village in June last year. But Milon divorced her in February this year.
Three cases were filed in the court and police station on behalf of the two families.
When Halima Khatun was going to the toilet last night, her ex-husband Milon Hossain and her cousin Mofizur Rahman tied her face and took her to the side of the house and tortured her severely and cut her hair of the head.
When Halima’s parents noticed her screams, they fled.
Halima’s father Moslem Ali said that Milon and his accomplices carried out such an attack with the intention of killing my daughter.
Halima Khatun lodged a complaint with the police station mentioning the names of three people.
Jhikargachha Police Station OC Abdur Razzak said the tortured housewife had filed a complaint with the police station. The matter is being investigated.
