Robbers are said to have strangled a woman to death at her home in Chittagong yesterday.
Police said the victim, Parvin Akter, 32, lived with her son in an apartment at the port city’s Roufabad area. Her husband is an expatriate.
Akter’s brother-in-law ‘Mamun’ rushed her to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital early on yesterday , where the doctors declared her dead, Bayozid Police Station Sub Inspector Ramadhan Chandra Das said.
“Mamun, who lives in another apartment in the same building, claimed that robbers had broken into the apartment and locked the son in the bathroom before strangling Parvin (Akter) to death. He said that the robbers made off with gold ornaments,” said police The brother-in-law was being questioned over the incident.
