Muggers looted Tk 4 lakh from a woman at Shibbari in Dakkhin Surma upazila on Thursday.
Sources said Rozina Begum, wife of Abul Kashem of Kandebpur village in Moglabazar area, withdrew Tk4 lakh from Dakkhin Surma branch of Islami Bank around 2.00pm.
A band of muggers, numbering 4/5, riding two motorcycles intercepted the CNG-run auto-rickshaw carrying Rozina and snatched away a bag containing Tk4 lakh from her possession.
Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Moglabazar Police Station, said police are trying to arrest the muggers.
