A woman allegedly killed herself and her husband made an attempt to commit suicide following a family feud at Bahadur village in Sadar upazila of Jessore district on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Amena Khatun,25, wife of Rasel Hossain, a resident of the village.
Witnesses said Amena hanged herself with the ceiling of a room with a scarf at about 10:00 pm after her husband Rasel took poison following a brawl between themselves.
Hearing groans from the house of Rasel, other family members rushed in and took them to Jessore Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared Amena dead.
