CGPA course on research fundamentals

Center for Governance, Policy, and Advocacy (CGPA), a non-profit research and educational institution has organized a day-long need-based training course on research entitled “Fundamentals of Research” for the university students and early career researchers. The training course covered the fundamentals of research and ABC knowledge of the research. The program was held on last Saturday by using virtual platform.
Dr Md Nazirul Islam Sarker, Associate Professor of Neijiang Normal University, Sichuan, China, was the main discussant where Mohammad Habibur Rahman, Research Assistant of 60 Decibels, Inc., USA, Kazi Abu Saleh, Assistant Manager-Research, Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), Mohammad Sehab Uddin, Research Fellow, Centre for Governance Studies (CGS), Dhaka, Mohiuddin Khan Al Amin, Research Officer, International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh -icddr,b and Mahmudul
Hasan, MPA, Huzhou University, China were the designated discussants in the webinar. Moreover, more than one hundred national and foreign students were participated in this training session from renowned public and private universities followed by DU, CU, JnU, JKKNIU, CoU, BUP, SUST, BSMRSTU, DMC, BU, IU, Open University, PSTU, HSTU, BRAC, East West University, NSU, Ravenshaw University, India, Shenzhen University, China and Rural Development Academy (RDA).
Meanwhile, Dr Sarker discussed the Introduction to Social Research, how to write a Research Proposal, Rahman delivered his two lectures on Qualitative Research Design and Data Analysis and Data Presentation, Amin analyzed critically Quantitative Research Design and Data Collection Methods, Saleh covered literature Review and Sampling for the first batch learners of one-month training sessions of CGPA.
Moreover, Mohammad Sehab Uddin and Mahmudul Hasan facilitated the training session. The course coordinators have informed that this course will contribute a positive role in learning research methods and techniques for the aspirants of higher studies, research-based career planners and anybody interested to do research since the research is the ultimate way of social and national development.
