Woman ‘kills ex-husband for stalking sister’

A woman killed her former husband over stalking her sister in Baroiyarhat area in Mirsarai upazila of Chittagong on Thursday night, said police.
The woman, Jesmin Sultana, 25, her 16-year-old sister and a man named Rubel were arrested in connection with the murder, said Jahedul Kabir, officer-in-charge of Jorarganj Police Station.
The teenage girl and the man helped Jesmin kill Omar Faruk, 32, said the OC.
Police recovered the body in front of a filling station beside Dhaka-Chittagong highway on Friday.
During primary interrogation, Jesmin confessed to committing the crime, said the police official.
Jahedul quoted Jesmin as saying that she divorced Faruk one year ago for his “bad character” but she could not get rid of him even after the divorce.
The couple have an one-year-old girl, said OC Jahedul.
Jesmin told police that Faruk used to stalk her younger sister making their life miserable. “So, we planned to kill him,” the OC further quoted the woman as saying.
She lured the man to her home at Chinki Astana that night, said the police official.
Later, Rubel strangled Faruk with a rope while Jesmin and her sister held his hands and legs, he added.
Faruk’s brother Ibrahim denied the allegation of stalking against his brother.
