An old woman was killed, another injured by lightning at Azimpur village under Andharmanik union in Mehendiganj of Barishal on Wednesday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Santana Begum, 60 , and the injured one was Reshma Begum,34, of that village.
Abdur Razzak Mir, local member of Ward No-4 of the union, said the dead victim was divorced and lonely living at her home near Haoladar Bari of the area and the injured one was her neighbor.
They hit by lightning when going from kitchen to bedroom of the house and the injured one sent to Barishal Sher- E- Bangla Medical College Hospital, UP member added.
