An elderly woman was hacked to death by miscreants in Bagan Bazar area of Fatikchhari upazila in Chittagongon Thursday.
Quoting family members, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Hathazari circle) Lutfar Rahman, said Joynob Begum, 55, used to live alone at a house, just around 30 yards away form her two sons’ residence.
Her body was found lying in the kitchen, said the ASP adding, the motive behind the killing could not be ascertained yet.
The body was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
