Abhaynagar police on Saturday noon recovered the decomposed body of a woman from a pond near the residence of Manindra Bhadra at Boubazar area under Nawapara industrial town.
The dead was identified as Masura Begum, 50, daughter of Late Montaz Ali Sheikh at Boubazar area. She was a divorcee woman.
Locals and the police said being informed by the locals the police recovered the body from the pond nearby her residence on Saturday noon. She had been going missing since August 12.
Confirming the information, Sheikh Nasir Uddin, officer in-charge, Abhaynagar police station told that the reason of the killing could not be known immediately. A case was lodged with the police station in this connection. But none was held.
