A woman was found dead in her house at a slum in Panchlaish area of Chittagong city on Monday.
Solema Begum, 23, of Brahmanbaria had been living there with her husband Ataur Rahman, a guard by profession, for six months. She used to work as a domestic help.
Azizur found the door of his house closed from inside after he returned home from his job at 8:30am. Getting no response, Ataur with neighbours broke open the door and found the hanging body of Solema, said police.
Quoting neighbours, police said the couple had a quarrel at night and Solema might have killed herself from that incident. Following the incident Ataur is on the run, police added.
