Instiitution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) including diploma students in Kishoreganj district demanded three-year Diploma course a press conference at IDEB Office in the town on Thursday.
It was addressing among others by President of IDEB in Kishoreganj Md. Abdul Quayum , Acting General Secretary Farooq Ahmed, Bangladesh Diploma Engineers Students-Teachers Forum Convener Harun Or Rashid and Bangladesh Technical Students Parishad (Bakachap), Kishoreganj Polytechnic Institute Branch Convener Delwar Hossain Piyas.
They said, in the light of the recommendations and research reports of three or four national level committees, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina upgraded the Diploma in Engineering course from three years to four years in 2000.
To meet the fourth industrial revolution and future work challenges, the government has planned to increase the enrollment rate in technical and vocational education to 30 percent in 2030 and 50 percent in 2040 in order to bring technical and vocational education into the mainstream of education.
