THE renewed escalation of violence in East Jerusalem following the temporary ban on the visit to Al-Aqsa Mosque and the killing of two Palestinian youths by Israel forces early this week showed once again that the Jewish state has no respect for Palestinian life. Israel on Tuesday demolished homes of two Palestinians who were killed in 2014 by Israeli forces in retaliation of their attacks on Israeli settlers in the West Banks. They were also laying siege on a third home of a Palestinian who was also killed in 2014 for attempting on an Israeli settler in the West Bank. Resisting occupation is not a crime, but one’s inherent right. But Israel not only killing the resisting Palestinians, their surviving family members are also not spared. The spike in violence has brought international calls for calm, with concerns the unrest could spin out of control when memories of previous Palestinian uprisings are still fresh. At least 499 Palestinians have been injured in clashes since Saturday, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent. Of that total, at least 41 were shot by live ammunition and 297 had suffered from excessive tear gas inhalation.Israel caused the escalation this time in Jerusalem banning visit to Al-Aqsa Mosque by young Palestinians for at least two days leading to the Jewish New Year. The Palestinian youths as frustrated and impatient by inhuman treatment under the occupation reacted strongly gathering around to enter the holy mosque premises. The Palestinians responded by stone throwing and two of them were killed including a 13-year boy. Meanwhile violence has spread over the West Bank where Israel has already built cluster of illegal settlements grabbing the Palestinian land. This time when President Mahmood Abbas hoisted the Palestinian flag at the UN headquarters on September 30 following the overwhelming vote by UN General Assembly Israel has unleashed the new barrage of shooting on unarmed Palestinian people by creating new excuse.
