On the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the Victory Day, winter clothes were distributed among the people of Barisal University area. The winter clothes were distributed at the initiative of Barisal University Officers’ Association. The programme was inaugurated on Saturday on the ground floor of Administrative Building by VC of Barisal University Prof. Dr. Md. Sadekul Arefin.
After the inauguration, the VC said that the distribution of these winter clothes will ease the grief of the winter victims. At that time, the VC called upon the rich people of the society and various social organizations to stand by the helpless people. President of the Officers Association Barisal University Executive Engineer Murshid Abedin presided over the programme, University Registrar (OD) Prof. Dr. Muhsin Uddin, leaders of the executive council of the Officers Association and leaders of various organizations of the university were present.
BSS from Bhola adds: A total of 2,800 blankets were distributed among poor, cold- affected and helpless people of Chachra, Chandpur, Sonapur and Shambhupur Unions under Tajumuddin upazila of Bhola on Saturday morning. Local Lawmaker Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shawon distributed the blankets as the Chief Guest at a simple function organised by Tajumuddin Upazila Administration on its premises.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Maryam Begum, Upazila Awami League President Fakrul Alam Jahangir, its General Secretary Fazlul Haque Dewan, Upazila Vice-Chairman Mohiuddin Poddar, among others, were present on the occasion.
Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shawon urged the rich people to stand by the cold affected poor people to reduce their suffering.
