Winter bids farewell

The winter season has come to a close as temperature has continued to rise significantly across the country during the past couple of days, the Met Office sources said.
It rose by at least two degree Celsius across the country yesterday when the mercury count was taken at dawn following the steady trend of rising temperature, they added.
“This year, the country witnessed less cold compared to last year as no severe cold swept over it,” a meteorologist said.
The lowest temperature of 17.8 degrees Celsius was recorded at Sitakunda yesterday and highest temperature of 33.5 degrees was recorded at Patuakhali, a weather bulletin said yesterday.
Dhaka had a maximum of 31.8 degrees C and minimum 21.5 degrees C, Chittagong maximum 29.2 degrees C and minimum 22.1, Khulna maximum 32.8 degrees C and minimum 21 degrees C, Barisal maximum 32.7 degrees C and minimum 20.2 degrees C, Sylhet maximum 32 degrees C and minimum 21 degrees C, Rajshahi maximum 33 degrees C and minimum 21 degrees C and Rangpur maximum 30.5 degrees C and minimum 21.5 degrees C.
