Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and Chittagong University (CU) campus will be provided Wi-Fi services.
In order to provide finest Wi-Fi coverage world’s best Aruba Network and EDGE core POE switch have been used. Primarily a test experiment has been completed comprising site survey, coverage plan/radio-frequency plan, hardware installation and software installation, the IICT director Dr. Mohammad Saiful Islam informed.
After the trial and approval Wi-Fi will go for the soft launch this month.
Meanwhile, Wi-Fi service is already set in the Chittagong University Administrative building, Library, different faculties, nine student halls, Shaheed Minar round-a-bout, Zero Point and Faculty residences. The service will be operated in the regions where the frequency of student is vast – eight different Wi-Fi stations have been detected regarding installation of high speed internet. Centring these Wi-Fi stations students, teachers can access to internet within a range of 500 metres.
