WHO assures DNCC of help fight Dengue

World Health Organization (WHO) has promised to work together with Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) in order to eradicate the aedes mosquito and dengue fever, which has taken an epidemic form in the city recently.
A five members WHO representatives held a meeting at Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon’s residence in Banani on Saturday.
WHO-Bangladesh Acting Representative Dr Edwin Salvador and four other members were present on the occasion.
In the meeting, Dr Edwin Salvador told media that WHO would jointly work with DSCC, Health Ministry and other government organizations to prevent the mosquito menace here. Today we are here for talks on how can we work together to eradicate such epidemic from the city, Dr Edwin added.
Sayeed Khokon emphasized raising awareness among people saying that dengue situation is still under control, especially we are in better position than in any other neighboring country. So, there is nothing to be worried here.
