Rishad claims 5/ 75: West Indies score 257 in 1st innings

A five-wicket haul by Rishad Hossain powered BCB XI to bundle out West Indies for 257 in the first innings on the first day of the three-day warm-up match at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram, the port city of the country on Friday. Rishad Hossain captured five wickets at the cost of 75 runs.
BCB XI were at the stumps on 24 for the loss of none.
Saif Hasan was on 15, while Shadman Islam was on three before the bails were drawn for the first day.
West Indies had a solid start as the openers Kraigg Brathwaite and John Campbell put on together 67 runs in the opening stand before Campbell was caught by Towhid Hridoy off Shahadat Hossain.
Brathwaite played a captain’s knock of 85. He hit 10 fours in his 187-ball knock.
Campbell hit a polished 44. His 73-ball innings was belted with seven fours and a sixes.
After Campbell’s departure, Brathwaite and Shayne Moseley added together 43 runs for the second wicket partnership before Moseley (15) was bowled out by Rishad Hossain when the visitors’ total was 110.
Second-down Nkrumah Bonner (2) was caught behind by wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan off Khaled Ahmed when the tourists’ score was 115 for the loss of three wickets.
Number-5 batsman Jermaine Blackwood (9) was caught by Yasir Ali off Rishad Hossain when the touring side’s total was 128 for the loss of four wickets.
After Blackwood’s departure, Kavem Hodge (0) was caught by Rishad Hossain off Khaled Ahmed when the Caribbeans team’s score was 131 for the loss of five wickets.
Then Brathwaite and Joshua Da Silva added together 34 runs in the six-wicket stand before Joshua (20) was caught by Rishad Hossain off Saif Hossain when the islanders’ total was165 for the loss of six wickets.
After Joshua’s dismissal, Brathwaite and Kyle Mayers put up 53 runs for the seventh wicket partnership before Mayers was bowled out by Rishad Hossain when West Indies’ score was 218 for the loss of seven wickets.
Mayers made 40 from 39 balls featuring eight fours.
After Mayers’ removal, Brathwaite and Alzarri Joseph added together 30 runs in the eighth wicket stand before Joseph (25) was caught by Khaled Ahmed off Rishad Hossain when the visitors’ total was 248 for the loss of eight wickets.
Opener Brathwaite was trapped leg before wicket by Khaled Ahmed when the touring side’s score was 248 for the loss of nine wickets.
Number-11 batsman Shannon Gabriel was caught by Mukidul Islam off Rishad Hossain when West Indies’ innings came to an end.
Khaled Ahmed grabbed three wickets instead of 46 runs.
Saif Hossain and Shahadat Hossain took one wicket each for 26 and 29 runs respectively.
