India (West Bengal) (Men’s & Women’s) Handball team will arrive in the city on May 26 to play some friendship handball matches against some selected teams of Bangladesh.
Regarding the ensuing matches, a press conference was held at the Dutch-Bangla Bank Auditorium in Bangladesh Olympic Association Bhaban on Thursday.
Chairman of the Organising Committee M Shoaib Chowdhury, Treasurer of Bangladesh Olympic Association Kazi Razib Uddin Ahmed Chapal, General Secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, Member Secretary of the Organising Committee Md Nurul Islam were present at the conference.
The budget of the upcoming matches has been estimated at Tk six lakh and seventy five thousand. Asian Age will provide Tk two lakh, Mousumi Industries Limited will give Tk one lakh fifty thousand and Orient Bread will give Tk one lakh and BHF will bear rest of the expenditure (Tk two lakh twenty thousand) from its own fund.
The inaugural ceremony will be held at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on May 27.
West Bengal Men’s team will play against BGB, Bangladesh Police and Chittagong district team while West Bengal Women’s team will play against Bangladesh Ansar, BJMC and Chittagong district team.
