ACC files 12 more cases over share market fraudulence

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed 12 more cases in connection with illegally amassing wealth through violation of margin loan rules in the share market.
The cases were filed with the Ramna Model Police Station by ACC Assistant Director Md Gulshan Anwar Pradhan on Saturday, according to ACC’s Public Relations department disclose the news on Monday.
A total of 15 persons were accused in the 12 cases over allegation of embezzling over Tk 61 crore.
Five officials of Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) were accused in all the cases. They are: Tipu Sultan Farazi, former deputy general manager, Md Ehia Mandal, assistant general manager, Md Shamsul Alam Akand, assistant general manager, Shariful Anam, assistant general manager, and Dhananjay Kumar Majumder, senior principal officer.
The other accused in the cases are: Manager of IFIC Bank Md Abdus Samad and his wife Nasima Akter, AKM Rezaul Huque from Tejgaon and his wife Papia Sultana, Laila Nur from Mohammadpur, AKM Atikuzzaman from Tejgaon, Qazi Mahmudul Hasan from Green Road, Sheikh Mesbah Uddin from Gulshan and his daughter Shima Akhter; and Bulbul Akhter from Shyamolibag.
Earlier on Thursday, August 30, the ACC assistant director filed another case with Ramna Model Police Station accusing six persons over similar allegations.
ACC on the same day arrested three persons from the capital’s Segunbagicha area in connection with the case filed over alleged misappropriation of around Tk 3.07 crore of Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB).
The arrestees are: Abdus Samad, Tipu Sultan Farazi, and Md Ehia Mandal.
Other accused of the case are: Shamsul Alam Akanda, Dhananjay Kumar Majumdar and Shariful Anam.
