Though Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan played the key role for Bangladesh’s victory against Zimbabwe in the fifth match of the Tri-Nation ODI series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday last but ‘Wonder Boy’ Mustafizur Rahman was the silent killer of that match.
Mustafiz gained maidens in his first three overs. He failed to earn the another maiden as he conceding one run in his last delivery of the fourth over.
The ‘Cutter Master’ earned respect from the batsmen of Zimbabwe and he delivered 23 consecutive dot balls in his 39 deliveries.
The left-arm pacer completed his figure as 6.3-3-16-2.
Earlier, James Anderson of England bowled five consecutive maiden overs. That means he earned consecutive 30 dot balls. Anderson bowled against Australia in an ODI match in 2003. A website informed that it would be the record for a bowler who earned most consecutive dot balls in an ODI match.
