A webinar titled “Bangabandhu’s Inspiration in the Advancement of Information Technology” held at Barisal University as part of the ongoing program to celebrate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The webinar was organized by the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the University recently. Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Mostafa Jabbar was present as chief guest.
Speaking as the chief guest, the minister said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has sown the seeds of Digital Bangladesh which has been put into practice by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Bangabandhu was able to realize the need for information technology to meet the challenges of advanced world. He was the first to introduce Bangladesh to the world by setting up a ground satellite station at Betbunia and forming a TNT board.
Not only in the field of technology but in every field Bangabandhu was able to take Bangladesh to a unique height. This has been possible due to the visionary leadership of Bangabandhu.
Barisal University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. The keynote address was delivered at a webinar chaired by Sadiqul Arefin. Member of Bangladesh University Grants Commission Prof. Dr. Sajjad Hossain.
Welcome speaker, Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Md. Manjur Ahmed. Kazi Mafruha Haque, 3rd year student of CSE department and ABM Anas, final year student spoke.
The webinar was attended by teachers, students and others of the CSE department of Barisal University. The webinar was moderated by Md. Samsuddoha, Assistant Professor, CSE Department and Soheli Jahan, Lecturer, CSE Department.
