We need a package of dos and don’t dos both for govt officials and people

The government is in chaos and unprepared to give leadership in coping with the killer virus. More people are dying and infected.
Despite our repeated demand that the government organise the medical experts and listen to them for an active plan to contain the epidemic we see no such response.
The government machinery appears disoriented without a right direction in the absence of competent people around. The government officials are distancing themselves from the people.
There is no coherent plant for arranging a regular safety network for the poor and the unemployed.
The unemployed and starving workers from garment and other sectors are protesting on the streets of the capital for their wages. The government has no plans for a safety network for the poor and the unemployed ones. The programme of financial help and distribution of food among the poor people could not be saved from mismanagement and corruption.
We can see how the government of other countries are actively on concerned for ensuring safety-nets for such needy people from an article from the Economist which we quote :
“Never before have governments erected safety-nets as generous as those they have created during the pandemic. In Britain 7.5m furloughed workers’ wages are being paid in large part by the state, which is spending more on them than it is on healthcare. In France the government is topping up the majority of private-sector workers’ incomes after their hours were cut. America has increased unemployment benefits by $600 per person per week, almost trebling the average payout. Since March a staggering 34m or so claims for this kind of support have been made. Germany and Japan have boosted their existing subsidy schemes for furloughed or partially furloughed workers”.
In this void in leadership we again urge the medical experts to come forward to improve the safety measures and organise the healthcare system.
There is no victory against the pandemic without the active role of the medical experts. In other countries the government’s themselves have involved the experts for planning things to be done. Our government seems to be in a bureaucratic wilderness.
Our people are voluntarily coming to government run testing centres only to wait in long queues compounding the problem by spreading the virus. No care is shown for maintaining social distancing.
The government has decided, like other countries, to reopen partially factories and shops. But there is no realisation of the importance of supervising if the safety guidelines are followed or not. The health officials or others are not to be seen anywhere. The government officials are observing lockdown for their own safety. It has become a habit of the government to expect police to do everything for the government.
It is for everybody to see that in other countries heads of government along with highly placed experts hold openly press conferences almost daily to inform the people of their daily progress. They take questions from the press. Our government prefers to remain inactive, unaccountable and out of sight.
Everybody can see how anxiously the governments of other countries are offering all facilities to ensure that, on a priority basis, the health system works to the satisfaction of the people. The people also express their gratitude openly and profusely for the risk the healthcare professionals take to save people’s lives.
We have already lost many doctors, nurses even police and army officials for the failure to make protective gears available for their use in doing their public duty.
We have to show before the world that our conscience is not dead and are fully aware of our obligation to the people at this crucial time.
Those experts who are essential for containing the deadly coronavirus must try their best to not remain helpless. In our view we need a package of dos and don’t dos to be followed as a must both by the government official and the people.
If the criticism of former President Obama that the Trump administration is not in charge of the pandemic crisis is supportable, we can also say it more justifiably that our government administration is not in charge of the situation and is thus unable to do the right thing.
