Meanwhile, according to the Sylhet Meteorological Office, 85.0 mm of rainfall was recorded in Sylhet from 8 am on Tuesday to 8 am on Wednesday. Rainfall of 26.6 mm was recorded from 11 am to 12 noon on Wednesday.
Engineer muhammad Shahiduzzaman Sarkar, Executive engineer of the Sylhet Water Development Board, said the water level in all the rivers in Sylhet is increasing little by little due to the downpour and ongoing rains. However, the waters of the Sari River have already crossed the danger line. It is natural for the river water to rise. So if the water level of all the rivers goes above the danger level, there may be floods, but not again. Moreover, there is a barrage on the Barak river in India. If they open the barrage, there will be floods.
