Dhaka WASA on Tuesday claimed in a statement that it was not responsible alone for Dhaka rivers’ pollution.
Dhaka WASA said it in the statement that different news papers published report on the World Environment Day quoting the Chairman of national river conservation commission on the day saying WASA was responsible for the river pollution surrounding the capital, ‘but it is not a lone responsible for the pollution’.
With reference to a study the WASA said that there were nine point reasons detected behind the river pollution.
Those are industrial waste, solid waste, poultry and dairy farm waste, construction work waste and others.
It said different agencies are also responsible for the river pollutions as per study findings.
Dhaka WASA never expected such a comments from the Chairman of national river conservation commission blaming the agency over the river pollution. (Press release)
