Warrant against 3 BNP leaders

A Dhaka court on Tuesday issued arrest warrant against three BNP front leaders, including Saiful Islam Nirob, general secretary of Jatiyabadi Juba Dal, as they did not appear in the court in a case filed with Paltan Police Station of the
 capital for vandalism and arson.
Magistrate Mohammad Tarek Moinul Islam of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order and deferred the hearing to February 25.
Other two leaders are Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, former president of Chhatra Dal, and Chhatra Dal leader Abul Mansur Khan Dipak. The scheduled hearing of the case was held on Tuesday.
Paltan Police Station Sub-Inspector Habibur Rahman filed the case in connection with vandalism and arson attack on March 6, 2013, in front of BNP central office at Naya Paltan of the city. On March 19 of the year, the complainant submitted the charge sheet of the case against 41 people. Later, on September 2 of last year, the court framed charge of the case against 41 leaders and activists of the party, including Islami Chhatra Shibir’s former President Dr Shafiqul Islam Masud.
