War criminal Amjad dies at DMCH

War crimes accused Haji Amjad Ali, who sustained injuries in a road accident in Gazipur city on August 12, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Friday.
Mozammel Haque, in-charge of the DMCH police camp, said Amjad, 90, son of late Fazar Ali, who was undergoing treatment at the coronary care unit (CCU) of the hospital, succumbed to his injuries there around 5pm.
On August 12, two war crimes accused, including
Hajii Amjad Ali, and four policemen were injured as a prison van collided head-on with a bus in Rajendrapur area in front of National Park of Gazipur city.
The accident occurred when the war crimes accused were being taken to Dhaka by the prison van to be produced before the International Crimes Tribunal.
Earlier, police arrested suspected war crimes accused Haji Amjad Ali from Keshoreganj village and Riaz Uddin Fakir from Bhalukjan village in Fulbaria upazila of Mymensingh district on August 11.
