Walton sets example of owner-workers relation: NHRC Chairman

Witnessing friendly relationship between owners and workers at Walton factory, National Human Rights Commission Chairman Kazi Reazul Hoque said, “It’s an example in creating conducive environment particularly in the relation between owners and workers that could be followed by others national and international companies in Bangladesh.”
The NHRC Chairman came up with the remark while expressing his reaction on the visit of Walton factory at Chandra in Gazipur before the media on Wednesday, says a press release.
Expressing his satisfaction over the management of Walton factory, he observed that employees were spontaneously working there in a friendly environment. He thanked Walton authorities for ensuring such a suitable environment for workers.
About the issue of profit sharing among workers, NHRC Chairman said: There are many multinational companies in the country, especially of Europe, who do not distribute dividends among workers. However, Walton, being a local company, is distributing a certain portion of its profits among workers, which is exemplary for others.
