Walton Mega Pavilion in the just ended Dhaka International Trade Fair-2017 recorded about 56 percent growth in the sales of wide ranges home, electronics and electrical appliances compared to the sales in the DITF-16, says a press release.
According to the Walton authority, the overall sales of Walton brand products in DITF-17 were jumped to Tk 12.16 crore from the sales of Tk 7.82 crore in DITF-16, registering a 56 percent growth. In terms of product wise sales growth, the country’s electronics giant Walton witnessed about 196 percent and 118 percent growth in the sales turnover of its fridge and television respectively.
The bumper sales also led Walton to secure the first prize under the ‘Highest VAT Payer’ category of the just concluded DITF-17 by depositing Tk 36,03,899 VAT to the national exchequer. In this year’ DITF, the local brand deposited more than doubled amount of the VAT (Tk 17.57 lakh) of the last year’s DITF. Walton also secured the ‘Highest VAT Payer’ titled. In addition, the 3-storey Walton Mega Pavilion, which was decorated with lucrative architectural design and selfie corner, also achieved the ‘Best Premier Pavilion’ in the DITF-17.
Mentionable, Public Administrative Minister Syed Ashraful Islam handed over the crests and certificates of ‘Highest VAT Payer’ and ‘Best Premier Pavilion’ to Walton Group’s Executive Director and Chief Marketing Coordinator Eva Rizwana on the concluding ceremony of the 22nd DITF-17 held at the capital Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on February 4.
