Walton Marcel Singna Boat Race competition was held in Kumari Beel of Kalihati upazila in Tangail on Friday.
In the men’s three categories — seven-boatman group, 25-boatman group and 50-boatman group — Akash Team of Kalihati upazila, Sadeque Team of Sakhipur and Ramesh Member Team of Bashail came out victorious respectively.
In the women’s seven-boatwoman group, Kabli Team of Kalihati upazila emerged champion.
Over 100 teams of men and women competed in the daylong traditional boat race organised by Singna Samaj Kalyan Juba Sangha in association with Bangladesh Rowing Federation.
Thousands of people witnessed the traditional boat race.
The champions, runner-up and 2nd runner-up received refrigerators, televisions and home appliances as prizes from Walton Group.
Additional director and head (games and sports) of Walton (RB Group) FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn handed over the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
