The Walton International Rating Chess Competition began on Saturday at Bangladesh Chess Federation.
Adviser to Bangladesh Awami League Mozaffar Hossain Paltu inaugurated the chess competition as the chief guest, while Senior Operative Director (Head of Games & Sports Department) of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Founder Chairperson of Actino Research Bangladesh Professor Dr Ismat Ara were with him as special guests.
Vice-President of Bangladesh Chess Federation KM Shahidullah was present at the time , among others.
Bangladesh Chess Federation is organizing the chess meet under auspices of Walton Group.
Around 150 chess players from Bangladesh and India are taking part in the chess competition. Grand Masters, FIDE Masters, International Masters will compete on the nine round Swiss League basis chess Tournament.
Taka two lakh will be given among the winners.
The tournament will be concluded on June 3.
