The Walton-DRU Media Cup Volleyball begins tomorrow at volleyball stadium in the city.
A total of 24 electronics and print Media teams are taking part in the meet, sponsored by Walton Group and organised by Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU).
The champion team will earn cash prize worth Taka 30,000 while the runners-up too will receive Taka 20,000 as prize money.
Besides, the each participating teams will be given Taka 1000 as participation money. In this regards, a press conference was held on Sunday at DRU Sagar-Runi auditorium to provide all the details of the meet.
DRU president Shakhawat Hossain Badsha, DRU general secretary Morsalin Nomani, Bangladesh Olympic Association’s deputy secretary general Ashikur Rahman Miku, Walton Group sports and welfare division head FM Iqbal Bin Anwar, DRU sports secretary M Mojibur Rahman spoke on the occasion.
The tournament committee’s member secretary Aminul Haque Mollik, tournament committee’s members Kazi Shahidul Alam, Sahab Uddin Shahab, Swapan Basu and Parag Arman were, among others, present on the occasion.
Later, the trophy and jersey of the tournament was unveiled at the end of the press conference.
