The Walton-BSJC Media Cup Football Tournament starts tomorrow at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium.
Bangladesh Sports Journalists Community (BSJC) will organize the six-a-side football meet under auspices of Walton Group.
In this regard, a press conference was held at the conference room in the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday. President of BSJC Asif Iqbal, General Secretary of BSJC Shakir Ruben, Senior Operative Director (Head of Games & Sports) of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Convener of the Tournament Committee Kamal Hossain Bablu, Member Secretary of the Tournament Committee Jashim Uddin Rana were present at the conference, among others.
A total of 24 print, electronic and online houses will compete in the tournament. The 24 teams splitting into eight groups will participate in the first phase of the tournament.
The top team from each group will get tickets of the quarter-finals.
Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Muhammad Faruk Khan, MP, will be the chief guest, while MA Awal, MP, Wahiduzzaman, Managing Director, Baily Group of Industries Limited, FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn will be with him as special guests.
The champions will be awarded Taka thirty thousand and a trophy, while the runners-up will get taka twenty thousand and a trophy.
