Walton bags employer award

Walton, electronics and home appliance company has been awarded “Best Employer Award 2014” by the bdjobs.com as recognition of its remarkable contribution to the development of human resources.
The award was given for considering its significant role in five pre-defined areas, including work environment; management culture and practices; career prospects for its employees; competitive salary and other benefits and brand image of the organization.
SM Zahid Hasan, Executive Director (Policy, HRM and Admin), Mahmudul Haque, Director (operation), Md Humayun Kabir, Executive Director (PR and Media) of Walton, Prokash Roy Chowdhury, General Manager (Sales & Marketing), AJM Arifuzzaman, Manager (Sales) and Mohammad Ali Ferose, Manager (Events & Programmes) of bdjobs were present in the ceremony.
 Since 2008, bdjobs has been giving the award on bi-annual basis aiming to encourage employers to be more responsible to the perception of current and potential employees. The Best Employer Award 2014 was given to some 10 organisations, including Walton, under 10 industries/sectors.
The other awardees are: Bangladesh Bank under bank and financial institution category, Banglalink Digital Communication Ltd under telecommunication sector, Samsung Bangladesh R&D Centre under Information Technology, Channel-i under media and advertisement category, Rahimafrooz Superstores Ltd under retail and trading category, Epyllion Group under textile and Garments sector, Save the Children under the development sector, British American Tobacco Bangladesh under consumer goods/FMCG companies category, and Square Pharmaceuticals under pharmaceuticals sector.
The selection of the awardees has been based on a perception survey participated by 3,557 bdjobs.com users. The survey, which is opened for all, has been conducted online for a period of three months (Dec 2014 to Feb 2015).
A total 1,725 organisations from ten industries/sectors were chosen by the individual respondents as their best perceived employers.
