Walton was awarded the best VAT (Value Added Tax) payer while Singer won the second prize and Rangs Limited received the third prize at the just concluded month-long 20th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2015 in the city.
Shubhasish Bose, vice chairman of Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) presided over the function while Md Tajul Islam, chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on commerce ministry, Hedayetullah Al Mamun, commerce secretary, Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), among others were also present at the award giving ceremony.
Like every year, Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and Ministry of Commerce (MoI) jointly organised the country’s mega trade fair.
Walton Pavilion contributed Tk12 lakh as VAT to the national exchequer at the fair. At the award giving and concluding ceremony Tofail Ahmed claimed that this year’s fair has become successful amidst political unrest.
A total of Tk 95 crore spot orders has been received at this year’s fair, which was Tk 15 crore higher than that of the previous year, he pointed out.
Like the previous year, the EPB also awarded the country’s renowned companies under different categories.
Under the premium pavilion category, Hatil Complex received the first prize, Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited and Akhter Furnishers jointly received the second prize and Abul Khair Milk Products won the third prize.
Under the highest VAT payer category, Walton was awarded the first prize, Singar won the second prize and Rangs Limited received the third prize.
In addition, Walton Pavilion at the DITF 2015 received the second prize under the premium pavilion category for its beautiful construction, outstanding exterior design, attractive interior decoration and choice of visitors and customers.
