UNB, Dhaka : The Viswa-Bharati University has selected a suitable plot of land near the Indira Gandhi Centre at Viswa-Bharati and decided to allot it for the construction of ‘Bangladesh Bhaban’. The move came in pursuance of a proposal for the establishment of a ‘Bangladesh Bhaban’ at Viswa-Bharati University, Santiniketan, West Bengal. The establishment of ‘Bangladesh Bhaban’ has been under consideration between the relevant authorities of India and Bangladesh. The university has requested the Bangladesh government to send a delegation for discussions on the design, plans and estimated cost of the project, according to a media release issued by Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Thursday. As of now, the ‘Bangladesh Bhaban’ is envisaged to be a two-storey building with a 7,000-sqft area on each floor. Once constructed, the ‘Bangladesh Bhaban’ will be the focal point for scholars involved in research and studies related to Bangladesh.
