Vidya Balan, who is making her recent foray into regional language films with a role as Geeta Bali in a Marathi film, was recently offered a big Malayalam film. The actress, who is currently gearing up to shoot with her Kahaani director, Sujoy Ghosh, apparently refused the Southern offer due to a clash in schedules.But a close source reveals there’s more than what meets the eye. “Vidya gets a lot of offers for South films and was approached for the Malayalam film; however, the dates of the shoot schedule were already allotted to Sujoy’s film. Also, the makers couldn’t afford the powerhouse actress, who is also a Padma Shri recipient and one of the most popular actresses of this generation.”
