Robbery in Bhangura Hindu village again

Once again robbery was committed in the Hindu village of Karatkandi under Khanmorich Union at Bhangura Upazila in Pabna on Sunday night . The incident occurred in the house of Abul Kashem Master, Vice-President of Union Awami League . He is a resident of that village. At the same time robbery was attempted to the house of Naresh Chandra and Likhon Chandra of village Mismethuir. When the villagers chased the miscreants, they fled away. The robbery was also committed day before yesterday in their neighboring house of Gopendra Nath Bhowmick. However, a group of rogue equipped with sharp weapons and guns broke the doors of the house of Abul Kasem Master and looted 15 thousand taka and 70 grams gold on Sunday night at 12 pm. Abul Kashem Master said that robbers demanded lot of money and jewelry at the gun point. They asked why he had not kept much cash in the home. Fatema Khatun (teacher), his eldest daughter and the other children came forward to save their father . Then some robbers was beat them. She also said most of them are teen-ager and youmg. No one was identified because they wore mask. Md. Abu Jafor, OC of Bhangura thana confirmed the news and said that he visited the spot on that night and set up a committee with villagers for of prevention . No one was arrested in this incident.
5 persons jailed for drug trading in Natore
Natore: A mobile court here on Monday convicted five persons and sentenced them to suffer six months imprisonment on charge of drug trading in Sadar Upazila. According to sources, the mobile court led by UNO of Natore Sadar and Executive Magistrate Mohammad Nairuzzaman convicted the five persons who were engaged in drug trading and using. The convicted are Md Akter Ali, 40, son of Tanmoy Ali and Enamul Haque, 35, son of late Nurul Haque, of Baro Harishpur, Ashraful Islam, 38, son of Nazrul Islam, of Kanaikhali, Kawser Ali, 38, son of late Sabur Ali, of Chalkbadyanath of Natore town and Based Miazi, 32, son of Ashraful Miazi of Bonpara village under Baraigram Thana of the district. Earliar Sadar Thana Police arrested the convicted persons from Baro Harishpur and Duttapara area conducting day long separate drives. Later, they were sent to the jail custody to suffer the punishment, reports BSS.
One held with counterfeit notes in Pirojpur
Pirojpur: Police in a drive detained a youth with fake Bangladeshi currency worth Taka 50,000 from Mulgram Bazar in Sadar upazila of the district on Monday. The arrestee is Roni Khan, 22, son of Dulal Khan, a native of Badura village of Mathbaria upazila. On information, a team of police of Sadar thana conducted the raid at Mulgram Bazar and arrested Roni Khan with Taka 50,000 fake notes. Masumur Rahman Biswas, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Sadar thana, said police would launch a campaign to arrest the organized gang of fake notes traders, who are active ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, reports BSS.
One held with fake currency notes in C’nawabganj

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a young along with 92 fake currency notes amounting to Tk 46,000 from Ekbarpur Daktartola village in Shibganj upazila on Sunday evening. The arrestee was identified as Mohammad Mahidur, 22, son of Hisamuddin, a resident of the village. A Rab-5 press release said, tipped off that a young man along with fake currency notes was staying in the area, the elite force conducted a drive there around 6:30pm. Later, the Rab members recovered 92 forged notes of Tk500 denomination from Mahidur’s possession and arrested him.
