Sports Reporter :The Walton Smart TV Victory Day Volleyball Tournament begins today at the Volleyball Stadium.A total of eight teams splitting into two groups will take part in the volleyball competition. Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Air Force, Border Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh Police have been billed in Group A while Bangladesh Power Development Board, Titas Gas, Bangladesh Navy, BKSP have been taken place in Group B.To mark the ensuing volleyball meet, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.Chairman of the Volleyball Tournament and Additional Director of RB Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, General Secretary of Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF) Ashiqur Rahman Miku, Director of the National Sports Council Abdur Rahim Bhuiyan, Secretary of the Tournament Committee Advocate Fazle Rabbi Babul were present at the conference.The budget of the tournament has been estimated at Tk 1,50,000 while RB Group the sponsor of the meet has given all the money to BVF to run the tournament smoothly.The champions and the runners-up will be awarded prize-money and trophies.Today State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder will inaugurate the volleyball meet at 10.30 am as the chief guest while Executive Director of RB Group SM Zahid Hasan will be with him as the special guest.Chairman of the Tournament Committee and Additional Director of RB Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn will be present at the time.
