The 48th anniversary of the Victory Day of Bangladesh was observed in Tashkent the capital of Uzbekistan on Monday with due respect and festivity, according to a message received here.
The programme started in the morning with hoisting of the national flag by the Ambassador Mosud Mannan at the Chancery premises while the national anthem was played. Expatriate Bangladeshis living in Tashkhent along with diplomats, media and cultural personalities and embassy staffs were present on the occasion.
Among others, Dean of Diplomatic Corps and Russian Ambassador Vladimir Tyurdenev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Sur’at Mirkasimov, representative of MFA in Uzbekistan Baratov Aziz and Director of Cultural Ministry of Uzbekistan Tursunqulova Nilufar graced the ceremony.
The Bangladesh ambassador along with his staff and members of the diplomatic corps paid a rich tribute to the Father of the National Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing floral wreath at his portrait.
