Five idols of Hindu deities were found broken at a shop in Chittagong on Monday afternoon.
Artisan Gauranga Acharjee put the idols — two of Ganesh and three of Bishwakarma — on display at his shop for sale, said Shyamal Palit, president of Chittagong District Puja Udjapan Parishad.
A local was seen fleeing the scene before Gauranga reached his shop at Shantiniketan Bazar in Rangunia, Shyamal quoted the artisan as saying.
