The Walton Victory Day Hockey Competition began at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in the city on Saturday. The hockey meet is being held marking the berth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In the day’s first match, Bangladesh Air Force beat Sonali Bank SRC by 5-2 goals, while Bangladesh Navy defeated Bangladesh Police by 7-2 goals in the day’s second match. Earlier, Executive Director of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn inaugurated the hockey competition by releasing the balloons as the chief guest. Vice-President of Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) Sajed A Adel, Chairman of the Tournament Committee Zaki Ahmed Ripon, Secretary of the Tournament Committee Badrul Islam Dipu were present at the opening ceremony.
