The Victory Day Hockey Competition begins today at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium (MBNHS) in the city. All the matches of the hockey tournament will be held at the MBNHS.
Sonali Bank SRC will face Bangladesh Air Force in the day’s first match, which begins at 2.00pm, while Bangladesh Navy will take on Bangladesh Police in the day’s second match, which starts at 4.15pm.
A total of five teams will take part in the hockey competition to celebrate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) will arrange the hockey meet.
The participating teams are: Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force, Bangladesh Police and Sonali Bank SRC. The first phase will be held on league basis. The top two teams will get the tickets of the final. The final will be held on December 27.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell, MP, will be present in the final and will distribute the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
