Bangladesh Open University

A discussion meeting celebrating 43rd victory day held at Bangladesh Open University (BOU) conference hall on Thursday.
Minister for liberation war Advocate AKM Mozammel Hoque was present the function as chief guest. Freedom fighter Kazi Mozammel Hoque was present as special guest while BOU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M A Mannan presided over the meeting.
AKM Mozammel Hoque said that Liberation war is the most significant event in the history of our nation.
The freedom fighter’s are the great heroes of the country and heroes never die’s. He further added that young generation should be informed the history of liberation work through the academic curricula.
Vice-Chancellor declared that a liberation War study center will be set up in university and Freedom fighters family members will have the opportunity to study free of cost in the university.
More than 150 freedom fighter from Gazipur district were also present in the meeting.
Among others Prof Dr Abu Taher, Prof Dr Mamtazuddin Patwary, Dr M Fazleh Ali. Md. Abul Kasem Shikder joint Director information conducted the meeting.

Green University of Bangladesh

Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) celebrated the National Victory Day on 16 December 2014.
Placing wreaths at the National Memorial at Savar, hoisting of National Flag, movie show, discussion were held on the significance of the day and a colorful cultural program at its campus.
Number Eight Sector Commander of the Liberation War Lt Col (Retd.) Abu Osman Chowdhury was present as Chief Guest while AKM Mamunur Rashid, Advisor of GUB also present as Special Guest. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Golam Samdani Fakir presided over the program.
The students and faculty members of GUB placed wreaths at the National Memorial at Savar in the early morning to pay glowing tributes to the martyrs. After that the VC along with the Advisor of GUB, Treasurer, Registrar, Exam Controller and Chairpersons of all the department of GUB hoisted the National Flag in front of the university building and brought out a colorful victory rally from the Campus. The rally rolled across Bijoy Sarani of the city and came back to the university.
At the discussion meeting, the speakers discussed about the evaluation of long 43 years of our independence. It was stressed that we have not yet achieved the desired goal for which the common people of this country participated in the Liberation War. They emphasized that the present generation should know the glorious history of our Liberation War. Today is the time to advance our nation with new dynamism by reflecting ourselves to realize our ultimate objectives of independence. It was also stressed that if we could check corruption in Bangladesh, per capita income may be doubled.

Banophool Adibashi Greenheart College

Banophool Adibashi Greenheart College celebrated the 44th Victory Day with solemnity and reverence, and remembered the valiant souls who sacrificed their lives to free the country from the Pakistani occupation forces.
The day began with hoisting national flag in campus.
After a special solemnity discussion was held at Banophool Adibashi Greenheart College campus.
Principal of Banophool Adibashi Greenheart College Prof Adhir Chandra Sarker presided over the discussion. While Founder and Chairman of the College governing body, Ven. Prajnananda Mahathera was present as chief guest. Teachers delegate Jasmine Akter and Assistant professor Syed Nasir Afzal was present as the special guests.
