Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has alleged that a vested quarter has been carrying out imaginary propaganda against the government over coronavirus issue with an ill motive.
He urged all to remain alert about the spread of the false campaign on social media and all other platforms accusing the government of hiding information regarding the coronavirus.
Quader made the remarks by attending a relief distribution programmed through video conferencing at the Awami League president’s political office in Dhanmondi on Friday.
He said the example of honesty and efficiency set by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the ‘crisis manager’ in the coronavirus situation is unprecedented in the post-75 history of the country.
Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said it is being circulated that all of them who have died in the country recently were infected by the coronavirus.

“After the examination, it is seen that some of them tested positive and the others negative for the virus. But many people are lying about these deaths.”
The minister said a national and international quarter is making evil efforts to mislead people by spreading false campaign against the government. “They’re running propaganda and rumours on the social media by twisting the fact.”
