Police claimed to have seized 12 pounds of snake venom worth Tk 45 crore and arrested a man from the city’s Dhanmondi area Tuesday night.
The arrested man has been identified as Md Solaiman Azad, 61, from Comilla, said Masudur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). A team of law enforcers raided a house in Dhanmondi around 8:15pm and seized snake’s venom from the possession of Solaiman, the police official said.
A case was filed with Dhanmondi Model Police Station in this connection, the DC said.
