Vegetables’ prices drop in Ctg

Vegetables prices have dropped in the Chittagong kitchen market with supplies showing a marked increase.
At Reazuddin Bazar, the largest kitchen market in the port city, on Friday, tomatoes were selling at Tk 30 a kg against Tk 80 a week before.
Beans sold at Tk 30 a kg on Friday against Tk 40 last week, radish at Tk 15 against Tk 20, and green chilli at Tk 35-40 against Tk 50-60.
Prices of green papaya, cucumber, and snake gourd were down by Tk 5-10 to Tk 30-35 per kg.
But cauliflower was costing more with falling supplies due to rain since Thursday night.
Traders said a cauliflower of normal size sold at Tk 40 on Friday against Tk 30 last week.
But prices of fish and meat remained almost unchanged.
‘Ruhi’ fish sold at Tk 200 a kg, sea tiger shrimp at Tk 350, tilapia at Tk 150-180, broiler chicken at Tk 110, local chicken at Tk 350 and beef at Tk 380.
