The total number of the coronavirus (COVID- 19) vaccine recipients has crossed the two lakh mark in all eight districts of Sylhet division.
Assistant Director (Health) Sylhet Division Dr. Anisur Rahman told media the 4,669 citizens, who were inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccines on Tuesday in the division, include 2,701 males and 1,968 females.
The district-wise break-up of total vaccine recipients stands at 77102 in Sylhet, 35269 in Sunamgonj, 36796 in Habigonj, 52438 in Moulovibazar in the division.
Since launching of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign from February 7 last, citizens are rushing to the vaccination centres daily with a huge keenness to take the vaccines across the division, Dr. Anis added.
Chief Health Officer of SCC Dr. Zahidul Islam told media that the 1081 citizens, who were inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccines on Tuesday in the Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Divisional Police Hospital, include 614 males and 467 females.
Principal of Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital Professor Dr. Md Moynul Haque expressed satisfaction over the excellent management at government hospitals for immunising citizens.
The vaccine recipient citizens are feeling no notable side effects since launching of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign in Sylhet division where the coronavirus infection rate continues to decline consistently during the last more than two months.
