UNB, Dhaka :Hefajat-e-Islam Bangladesh on Thursday gave the government 20 days to bring Posts and Telecommunications Minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui to justice for his anti-Islamic remarks.”Latif Siddique should be hung incorporating a legal provision of death sentence (in the relevant law) for atheists and non-believers for disparaging Islam. Or else, Muslims will be forced to take to the streets,” said Hefajat’s Dhaka city unit convener Moulana Noor Hossain Kashemi.Noor Hossain was addressing a demonstration organised at the north gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in protest against Latif Siddiqui’s remarks. He said, they will not return home until Latif Siddiqui is tried after enacting a new law.Minister Latif Siddiqui came under fire across the country for his offensive remarks against hajj and Tablig Jamaat made on September 28 in New York at a reception hosted by expatriates from Tangail in his honour.Latif Siddiqui at the reception said, “During hajj, so much manpower is wasted. Over 20 lakh people have gone to Saudi Arabia to perform hajj. They’ve no work, no production and they only cause deduction.””Some 20 lakh Tablig Jamaat people get together annually who don’t do any work except halting traffic movement across the country,” he added.
